CNA Holdings Shelby produces polyesters using a batch process. Specific polyesters include polyethylene terephthalate and polybutylene terephthalate. Subsequent processing of the polymer may be performed by KOSA which now owns and operate the finishing half of the one time Hoechst Celanese plant, sent to compounding for the introduction of other chemical compounds to modify the physical polymer properties or color, or sold.
