The purpose of this questionnaire is to collect sufficient data to allow the DAQ modeling staff to determine if the concrete facility may be exempted from air quality modeling. Modeling exemption does not apply to concrete facilities located in the western or "mountainous" regions of NC. These facilities will require air quality modeling which may be conducted by the applicant or DAQ. Contact the DAQ/AQAB for additional information.
Based on the questionnaire responses, the AQAB will determine a facility maximum annual concrete production rate that will ensure compliance with the arsenic AAL. If this production rate is lower than the facility's current or requested annual production rate, the applicant will be required to conduct dispersion modeling to ensure compliance at the higher production rate.
If you have any questions regarding this questionnaire, please contact Mark Yoder at (919) 715-6286 or Tom Anderson at (919) 715-6263.
What type of plant is this? (please indicate one):
Central Mix Plant
Truck Mix Plant with Central Dust Collection
Truck Mix Plant with Bagfilter on Truck Loadout
Facilities without bagfilter controls on the truck loadout operation will have to conduct their own dispersion modeling. Note: previous modeling conducted by DAQ suggests that facilities without bagfilter controls are highly unlikely to model in compliance with the arsenic AAL.
