Permitted Air Pollution Controls

Unit 1: No. 2 fuel oil/coal-fired electric utility boiler (12,000 mmBtu/hr heat input) with flue gas conditioning systems consisting of: an integral sulfur trioxide generator (450 pounds per hour of sulfur input), an anhydrous ammonia injection system (121.5 pounds per hour maximum ammonia injection rate), one cold-side electrostatic precipitator (974,600 square feet of plate area), one low NOx burner system employing overfire air, one selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.

[The ammonia and sulfur trioxide ash conditioning, and SCR systems may be operated independently of each other or in combination. Each system may be operated intermittently as necessary, based on boiler system requirements, to maintain compliance with applicable particulate, visible emission and/or nitrogen oxides (NOx) regulatory requirements.]
